As a leader in youth development, we understand the importance of providing our participants with a balance of academically rich activities as well as an enhanced focus on overall physical well-being. We work side-by-side with industry experts, and design experiences that help our child learn, grow and thrive. We offer a constructive balance of counselor-led activities and free time for child exploration. The YMCA uses its five core character values (respect, responsibility, honesty, faith and caring) in its program. Participants gain confidence, explore new areas of interest, and make new friends in a safe environment.

Why YMCA Afterschool?

More Physical Activity
Our afterschool care program includes at least 30 minutes of outdoor or indoor physical activity and movement a day. Our campers have the opportunity to swim 3 days per week in the YMCA pool with certified lifeguards and Afterschool staff on deck at all times.

Homework Assistance
Our YMCA program offers homework assistance to children.

YMCA Afterschool Staff
Our staff are caring individuals who strive to keep children engaged, healthy and help them form friendships in our afterschool program.

Transportation
The YMCA, partnering with West Central Mass Transit, will provide safe transportation for children from their schools in the district to the YMCA Afterschool program.

Healthy Snacks
The YMCA endeavors to provide Afterschool children with delicious, healthy snacks each day.

Parent Communication
The YMCA will be glad to answer any questions that parents may have and keep parents informed about Afterschool activities.

Affordable Care and Financial Assistance
While we try to make our afterschool care program affordable to everyone, we understand that cost may be a barrier for some families. We encourage you to apply for financial assistance through our Y if you find that you may have difficulties in paying your program fees. Please contact Jessie, 217-245-2141, to get an application and begin the process.
